Your favorite action television series is back in your screen with the full pack action twist. Easily the most stressful hour of television in recent memory, the premiere picked up 100 days after the President’s ‘assassination,’ with Nikita referred to as “the most wanted woman in the world.” But did she take that as a cue to lay low, avoiding a federal shootout and a media frenzy? Please, you know Nikita better than that.
No, she went straight to Equinox News Network reporter Dale Gordon, the best-known journalist covering her story, and gave him a hell of an exclusive. Dressed as an inconspicuous delivery man, Nikki actually managed to tell Dale most of the truth something about blood, because Nikita is also apparently a scientist before a tip from Amanda had ENN surrounded.
Anyway, footage of Nikita holding up the entire ENN newsroom at gunpoint landed her all over the Twitters and the Facebooks, which seemed to suck at first until it revealed a direct entry point for the cavalry! Michael, Ryan and the sweetest of nerds were able to use the ENN employees’ smart phones to tap into the building and get Nikita to the roof.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Alex was stuck in traffic human trafficking, that is. With Sonya providing a little remote assistance, Miz Udinov was shutting down operations left and right, but it wasn’t long before she fell a little too far down the rabbit hole.
While staking out a trade orchestrated by a corrupt American official, Alex was spotted, triggering a loud, bloody free-for-all. I’m actually not sure if I’ve ever seen such an intensely violent sequence on Nikita before. And I have to hand it to Alex; even after killing a handful of strangers, then examining the chips in their bodies while still covered in their blood, she still looked so pretty.
Owen probably agrees that she looked pretty, but he was too busy holding up a gun to her head to really express such feelings. And yes, I called him Owen, because that is his name. He keeps telling everybody to call him Sam, but it’s just like, stop trying to make “Sam” happen. It’s not going to happen.
I’d also like to take a moment to enjoy Michael and Nikita’s short-yet-sweet reunion during her escape. She may have left the engagement ring at the end of the finale, but come on; we all knew she didn’t stop loving him. As Nerd described during the premiere, when Nikita decided to bolt, she was “just being Nikki,” which is kind of like “just being Miley,” only you end up putting a lot more bullets in a lot more heads. It looks like Nikita in the big trouble but the friends that she has Alex, Birkoff, Michael and Ryan would not let her down but still in her side until to the end of the time.
In the next episode of Nikita season 4 episode 2 entitled Dead or Alive, Nikita reunites with Michael, Birkhoff and Ryan aboard the team’s aircraft command center. Michael refuses to discuss their relationship but tells Nikita she should stay with the group and let them help her clear her name. Ryan realizes Amanda is making doubles of VIPs with The Shop’s help. Nikita discovers that one of the doubles is the Director of the FBI, but doesn't know how to kill him without exposing herself. Meanwhile, Alex holds Sam at gunpoint and demands he return what he stole from her, but when a gang of thugs attacks them they are forced to work together to escape.
