She is different from the other nannies who have attended the Brown kids as she possesses special powers. Though the kids try to ward her off as well, they soon realize that their new nanny is not going to be intimidated that easily. While it is true that the movie is ultimately about Nanny McPhee and the seven kids, the director spends sometime to explore an unlikely romance between Mr. Brown and the maid of the family, Evangeline.
