Game of Thrones Season 6 Is Melisandre and Evil or Good?

In the season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones entitled “The Red Woman” a big revelation just happened and shocks us about the twist. So what exactly do we know about Melisandre? Melisandre has been a major player on Game of Thrones. She’s a Red Priestess of the Lord of Light. She previously backed Stannis Baratheon, but abandoned him in Season 5 and ran back to Castle Black.

But we saw a whole new side to Melisandre on the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere “The Red Woman.” Melisandre came back to Castle Black and couldn’t believe Jon Snow was dead. She saw him in the flames.

By the end of the Season 6 Game of Thrones premiere, a completely defeated Melisandre got ready for bed, taking off her clothes and her necklace. And she completely transformed to show her true age. She is really old knowing that her hair is really white.

There was actually some controversy about a continuity error on GoT. Melisandre had taken off her necklace before, in front of Selyse, but she didn’t change. Theories suggest that Selyse saw the real Melisandre in Season 4, which is why she looked so shocked, but the audience didn’t see Melisandre’s true age. Other theories say it really was a continuity error.

Either way, Melisandre’s big reveal on Game of Thrones was shocking. And it could have significant effects on the show. What has Melisandre lived through? Should we all be taking her magic more seriously? Will she revive Jon Snow?

Here are five predictions about Melisandre on Game of Thrones.

1. She Could Revive Jon Snow

OK. Jon Snow is still dead on Game of Thrones. But GoT fans still have hope. There are many predictions that Melisandre will revive Jon Snow. She was so convinced that she saw him in the flames. Some suggest that Melisandre’s magic is so powerful she can bring him back, while others think that the twist about her age in the Season 6 premiere means that she gave up years of her life to bring Jon Snow back.

2. She Is A Targaryen

There is a theory – the R+B=M theory – that Melisandre is a Targaryen love child. If the theory is correct, she may be the “Red Star bleeding” that’s mentioned in the Azor Ahai prophecy. It says that when the red star bleeds and darkness gathers, Azor Ahai will be born again.

Many think that Jon Snow is Azor Ahai, the messiah that Melisandre’s been looking for. Melisandre loves red and theories say she’s Shiera Seastar and Bloodraven’s daughter, so the theories suggest she’s the red star that will bleed. If she is the “Red Star bleeding,” she may bleed herself to save Jon Snow.

3. Her Prophecy About Balon Greyjoy Will Come True

People stopped taking Melisandre’s magic seriously, especially after she was so wrong about Stannis Baratheon despite sacrificing Shireen. Her prophecies didn’t seem to come true. Melisandre used Gendry to draw blood from him with leeches. She claims she used those leaches to cause Balon Greyjoy, Joffrey and Robb Stark’s deaths. The problem? Balon never died. And it’s unclear if she’s the real reason Joffrey and Robb Stark died. But predictions say Balon will die in Season 6 of GoT and Euron Greyjoy will replace him.

4. Melisandre Is The Witch From Cersei’s Prophecy

Back in Season 5, there was a flashback of a witch Maggy the Frog giving Cersei a prophecy on Game of Thrones. The prophecy was she’d have three children who would die. So far, Joffrey and Myrcella have died. Bustle has put out the theory that Melisandre and the witch are actually the same person and that Melisandre’s prophecies really are coming true.

5. Melisandre Will Join Jon Snow On The Battlefield

If Melisandre does bring Jon Snow back, she will likely join him on the battlefield on Game of Thrones. Melisandre claims she saw Jon Snow in the flames fighting at Winterfell. The problem? Jon Snow is dead. So will Melisandre give up on her prophecy? It doesn’t seem like it. There are predictions that Jon Snow will fight against Ramsay Bolton in the Battle of the Bastards in Season 6 of Game of Thrones. We were hoping that this well happen Jon snow is in one of the character that we always didn’t want to be dead but somehow happen. Fans are never giving up believing that he will be revive.
