The vampire diaries are really up in making surprises in their first episode in 2014 and it happens that it is the 100 episode that they have they finally made mark in my heart as a fan all over again. Who have thought that the episode “500 Years of Solitude” will unite our TVD characters ever even it is just a minute with it bringing back Jenna, Vicki, Alaric, Elijah, Tyler, Rebekah and Klaus way back in the Mystic falls.
With Katherine n her death bed, the episode began as a tribute to the trouble making doppelgänger, which seamlessly transitioned into a tribute to the series, as Katherine was revealed to be the show’s true heart and soul. She’s the glue that’s kept everyone together for better or, more often, worse and even in her final days, she’s somehow still calling all the shots.
Through Kat’s hazy death-visions, we caught glimpses of some of our favorites Jenna , John, Emily and Elijah and I loved every single visit, no matter how brief. Seeing her many enemies, as well as her few loved ones, helped to remind me how well-rounded a character Katherine really is; it’s become easy to pigeon-hole her in the villain category when she’s really more of an anti-hero. Oh, Alaric and Vicki’s appearances also got me all choked up, even if they weren’t Katherine-induced. Klaus’return to Mystic Falls any less impactful.As always, Caroline tried desperately to fight off Klaus’ creepy, forceful advances — until he gave her a massive ultimatum. He ‘promised’ to leave town and never pursue her again, in exchange for her honesty, but what he got in response was a whole lot more than just honesty.
“He really does hate me, poor lad,” Klaus teased, only to then question Care Bear why she had broken up with Tyler. She informed him that she had given him an ultimatum to either give up on his revenge plans and stay with her or to walk away for good — though this only made Klaus tease her, asking if he could have the same options. Klaus teasing Caroline was giving us all kinds of feels, but then real magic happened.
Klaroline, the two were off walking in the woods. Klaus said he would leave after Caroline gave him her confession. He brought up all of the hatred she has for him, urging her to be honest with him. “I’m in college, I’m building a life for myself. I have plans and a future and things that I want — and none of them involve you,” Caroline yelled at her hybrid suitor. Then, Caroline promised that she would give him what he wanted, if he would never come back, just like he was promising. This led to one of the steamiest kisses in The Vampire Diaries history. Not only did these two share an intimate kiss, they proceeded to hook up against a tree.
That said, I was thrilled when Tyler walked into the Salvatores’ living room. Rebecca sure does give good parting gifts! I only hope Tyler can forgive Caroline for doing the nasty with the enemy. Am I the only one who entered the hour fully prepared to say my last goodbyes to Katherine Pierce? I swear, there are probably cats jealous of how many lives this girl has.
Thanks to some out-of-the-box thinking on Nadia’s part, it seems that Kat will indeed live to see another day. With a little help from Elena and Stefan (Paul Wesley), Nadia used Kat’s Traveler powers to move her into someone else’s body; and not just any body: Elena!
In the next episode of The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Episode 12 “The Devil Inside”, When Enzo brings Damon a gruesome present and insists that they bond by committing an act of revenge, Damon makes an effort to do the honorable thing. After finding himself in awkward and confusing conversations with Nadia, Matt impulsively decides to throw a party, where Caroline makes a stunning confession to Elena, then has to face the consequence of her actions with Stefan and Tyler. Aaron does his best to make amends for his family's past misdeeds and start a new life for himself. Finally, Elena suddenly finds herself in a life-threatening situation with only minutes to figure out how to save herself.
