Outlander Season 2 Episode 8 “The Fox’s Lair” Preview

Happenings are getting intense in this television series. The Outlander Season 2 episode 8 is titled “The Fox’s Lair.” In this episode, the relationship between Claire and Jamie will face some new twist as Claire will discover Jamie’s family history. The previous episode “Faith” sent chills down the viewer’s spine as many upheavals took place.

Jamie and Claire Fraser will stay true to their word and leave Paris. With this, they also bid adieu to the traumatic memories behind. It also reports that in the upcoming episode 8 titled “The Fox’s Lair,” fans will also see that Claire uncovers a secret that will help her understand the complicated family history of her husband Jamie Fraser.

What will be the secret? Will it affect Jamie and Claire’s relationship? This will be explored when the episode airs next weekend. The official synopsis of episode 8 reveals that: “Claire and Jamie call upon Jamie’s grandsire, Lord Lovat, in an attempt to elicit support for the Jacobite cause. However, a visiting Colum MacKenzie has other plans, and Lord Lovat’s manipulative machinations ensure that no matter what, his own interests will be served.

From this, it appears that Jamie and Claire Fraser, as they return to Scotland, things will not be the same. Their lives will undergo changes and they will probably have to face more tough challenges as they elicit support for the Jacobite cause from Lord Lovat.

While in episode 7 titled “Faith,” Caitriona Balfe who plays Claire Fraser, should be in the awards season discussion for her performance of grieving the death of her still-born child. It was an exquisite performance.

The nun, Mother Hildegarde, provided kindness as she baptized the baby and gave her the name “Faith” so that she could be buried in hallowed ground. It further reports that Master Raymond comes to heal Claire. He begins to massage her body, and the infection miraculously dissipates.

In such tough crisis, Jamie is not by her side. This is because he is still locked up in Bastille for the crime of dueling. The episode also revealed the secret why Jamie fights a duel with Black Jack Randall. Fergus informs that, while in the brothel with Jamie, Black Jack had walked in on Fergus pilfering his lavender perfume and raped him. Hearing Fergus’ cries for help, Jamie interceded and challenged Randall to the duel that ultimately sent him to prison.

The episode “Faith” also saw how the King enlists Claire as a sort of lie detector. Master Raymond and St. Germain are charged with various crimes, including sorcery and exploration of the dark arts. And Claire is asked to decide their fates. The heart-wrenching episode 7 in the end saw Claire asks to be taken home to Scotland. Their last stop in France is Faith’s grave so that Jamie can lay an apostle spoon on the headstone.
