Outlander Season 2 Episode 2 “ Not in Scotland Anymore”

When Outlander Season 2 premiered viewers were looking forward to see Jamie and Claire arrive in France after their traumatic experiences in Scotland. However, the season opened with a twist Claire returned to her original timeline and was reunited with first husband Frank Randall. In the upcoming episodes, viewers will get to see what happened in France and why Claire returned to 18th century Scotland.

According to Starz, next week's episode titled "Not in Scotland Anymore" will see Claire and Jamie continue to enjoy what France has to offer. However, their life in Paris will not be smooth sailing as Jamie still continues to struggle with his traumas, which he suffered at the hands of Black Jack Randall during the first season.

Despite these difficulties, Claire and Jamie remain committed to their goal to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion and prevent the Battle of Culloden.

In the promo for the upcoming episode, Claire and Jamie will be headed to Versailles where new friend Louise de Rohan promises to introduce them to various noble families belonging to the French aristocracy. In the lavish party at Versailles, the two are able to have a fortunate meeting with Prince Charles the instigator of the Jacobite uprising of 1745. In the promo, Claire also narrates that they will be able to plan the Scottish rebellion from the inside of a French brothel and it can be stopped in the French Court.

The Outlander season 2 will also continue to show the growing conflict between Claire, Jamie, and Comte St. Germain. Claire earned the ire of the French nobleman after she caused the loss of his ship and cargo after pointing out that the crew was infected with smallpox.

"The Comte and Claire, in the beginning it just feels like she's used her big mouth to get herself into trouble again and you see [him as] someone who just wants revenge, but as we progress in the season, you realize that there are darker things about the Comte St. Germain and it's a very interesting storyline," actress Caitriona Balfe told Variety.

To see how the story unfolds, be sure to catch "Not in Scotland Anymore" airing on Apr. 16. Season 2 of "Outlander" airs every Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on Starz.
