The Walking Dead: Season 7 to be Epic Kirkman Tolds

There are few shows quite as massively popular as AMC's apocalyptic drama The Walking Dead. And because so many people tune in every week to watch Rick and his group kill zombies and human villains, the long wait between seasons can be almost unbearable. Since Season 6's finale in April, fans have been wondering who Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan killed as well as what to expect for the overall plot of the upcoming Season 7. Marketing and commercials have been a bit tricky for Season 7, as the editors have been unable to use footage of the characters who are in danger, out of fear of spoiling the big cliffhanger. Luckily for us, Walking Dead creator and writer Robert Kirkman has recently given us a hint as to what to expect this season.

Robert Kirkman recently sat down with Entertainment Weekly, where he was asked what Season 7 of the hit drama would entail. Kirkman summed up the season in one word, and then went on to elaborate.

I mean, the word is epic. The show is expanding. We're introducing the Kingdom, we already have the Hilltop, we're going to be exploring more of the Saviors and the Sanctuary that they live in and more of what goes on around Negan, what his average daily life is, which is extremely interesting. What we're finding is there's a lot of civilization out there. There are smaller groups here and there that actually have been thriving and it gets to be a little exciting because we're going to be seeing how they've been surviving, and a lot of them have been getting by in a much different way than Rick and his group. So we're meeting these people that have lived in this apocalyptic situation for as long as Rick Grimes and his crew, who we've been following since day one, but we haven't seen their evolution and their progression. And so some of them grow to be like Negan's group, some of them grow to be like Ezekiel's group, some of them grow to be like Gregory's group at the Hilltop, and the differences between these groups, and their ways of life, is going to be a lot of fun to explore this season.

Epic huh? Epic is good.

It seems like Season 7 of The Walking Dead is really going to be a departure from what we're used to seeing from the series. Rick and his group have been pretty independent for the past six seasons, with each of their foes eventually being beaten by the group's deadly skills in battle. But now they're playing a new game altogether, as the different communities in the area each try to ensure their own survival. The world has suddenly gotten much bigger, and it will be interesting to see how each community interacts with each other, as well as the villainous Negan.

But these large communities do offer a glimmer of hope for our heroes. Clearly the residents of Alexandria are ill-equipped to stand up against Negan and The Saviors. But if an alliance can be formed with the other two communities, perhaps they can all team up to finally rid themselves of the brutal Saviors.

The Walking Dead will return to AMC on October 23rd, 2016.

Game of Thrones Season 7: Is Gendry Back?

This new fan theory is heating up. Last time we saw Gendry Baratheon on Game of Thrones, he was stealing away to King's Landing on a rowboat in Season 3 (even though he'd never rowed before and doesn't know how to swim...yikes). We haven't seen him since but we might have the chance again soon.

Joe Dempsey, who plays Gendry in the show, was recently spotted at the airport in Belfast, the city where much of GoT filming takes place. According to Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall, the actor doesn't seem to be linked to any other projects that would lead him to the Irish city.

HBO has yet to confirm or comment on his return, but fans are already eating up the theory. Many hope Baratheon will reunite with his Season 2 travel buddy and rumored love interest Arya Stark (who is currently on her way home to Winterfell after leaving Braavos).

If Gendry is returning to the show, it would be an interesting time for his reappearance. The Seven Kingdoms have seen a lot of shakeups in power since his departure—including King Tommen's death and Cersei's appointment as Queen in the Season 6 finale—and will probably experience even more in the future, with Daenerys sailing for King's Landing and Jon Snow's confirmed Targaryen lineage. As the former King Robert Baratheon's illegitimate son, Gendry is ineligible for the crown, but he still has royal blood in him, which could lead him into danger. Back in Season 3, the red priestess Melisandre tried to sacrifice him to the Lord of Light, but Ser Davos saved him, sending him away to safety via rowboat.

No matter what Gendry's roll will be in the upcoming season (if he even shows up), it would be nice to see this character again.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 A Final Good Bye

The Vampire Diaries is ending after eight seasons. That much was revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the show. The CW lifted the lid on a beautiful video that had the cast saying their goodbyes to the fans that have stuck with the show through it all.

We also got word that Kevin Williamson has been back in the writers room. He made it clear that the show will always be dear to him.

“I’ve never been too far away. … As Julie and I sat down to write the first episode of Season 8 together, I was freaking out. … Julie was like, ‘You write all the Damon stuff.’ It came back pretty quickly, and I think we’ve got a great Season 8 planned out. It’s really nice to live in this world again.”

Williamson was responsible for the show when it was on top creatively. The last few seasons have suffered a downturn in quality.

Julie Plec shared very few details about the final big bad of the series.

“The villain has a finger so far. … It’s a new take on villains for us. It’s rooted back all the way to ancient times.”

Williamson chimed in with his take on this new villain, noting that it's a “cool way to infuse Mystic Falls with this ultimate evil. It’s like a cherry on top of the entire mythology of Mystic Falls.”

It all sounds very apocalyptic and we can't wait to see how this new villains comes together.

Will she be able to match the greatness of both Klaus and Kai?

Ian Somerhalder let us in on the news that Damon and Enzo would be "doing some gnarly s–t,” adding that “the mind control thing is actually quite interesting. … In their minds, they’re still them. That conflict and that struggle is what we always look for.”

Kat Graham also revealed that Bonnie will be struggling in the aftermath of losing her magic. Will that be the main conflict for Bonnie of the final season?

We don't know for sure. Her boyfriend, Enzo is off with Damon doing some pretty crazy stuff.

Finally, we got word that Caroline Forbes will be very busy trying to keep a connection to Alaric while raising the twins. She'll also join forces with Stefan and Bonnie to locate Damon and Enzo.

The Vampire Diaries Season 8 Dark Damon is Back

When The Vampire Diaries Season 7 returns for its final season, Damon and Enzo will still be under the murderous influence of the unknown evil that had been lurking in the Armory's vault. And although we have precious little time left with our favorite TVD characters.

Julie Plec has said this season is all about bringing TVD back to its roots, and for Damon, that means reconnecting with his dark side. When The Vampire Diaries began in 2009, Damon wasn't the brooding, tortured anti-hero fans stan for now. In fact, he wasn't the hero at all; he was the Big Bad. Within the first eight episodes alone, Damon turned Matt's sister Vicki into a vampire, attempted to seduce Stefan into drinking human blood, ruthlessly murdered at least three people Stefan's best friend Lexi, included and violated Caroline mentally, physically and possibly sexually.

In short, Damon was not a good dude. But as The Vampire Diaries continued, the show began to focus heavily on the reasons behind Damon's behavior and, more specifically, the reasons why he was so convinced goodness wasn't something he deserved. That's not to say that understanding the pathology behind Damon's actions makes them any less abhorrent, but by exposing Damon's internal struggle over the type of man he wants to be versus the type of man he thinks he is, The Vampire Diaries turned Damon into an endlessly complicated figure who has never stopped challenging the audience's limits when it comes to empathy and forgiveness.

That's because while Damon has grown exponentially since he first returned to Mystic Falls, he still remains his own worst enemy. When faced with a tough decision, viewers never know which Damon will respond: the noble Damon, who will sacrifice everything to help those he loves, or Dark Damon, who will lash out at or abandon his loved ones when he doesn't want to face his reality. It's a battle Damon is still fighting to this day, and this new evil is primed to take it to the next level.

By taking control away from Damon, this villain also takes away Damon's ability to run away from his decisions. That means there are no distractions, no bottles to hide in or means to atone that have previously provided Damon with avenues to avoid confronting himself. There's just the truth, which is that although Damon is currently being forced to murder under this woman's command, he has no such excuse for his past sins. It's possible that by being forced into a literal fight between the evil controlling him and his own humanity, Damon will gain that previously elusive perspective he's always needed and finally find peace with himself.

That may seem overly optimistic, but with the end of the series nigh and Nina Dobrev's imminent return, if Damon really wants a chance at his happy ending with Elena, he needs to truly become the person he's always said he's wanted to be.

At the very least, Dark Damon is sure to give us lots more scenes of Somerhalder's signature sass and smirk. And at the end of the day, do we really need much else?

The Walking Dead Season 7 Everything that We Know So Far

With one of television's biggest weekly audiences, The Walking Dead is coasting along, possibly past the point where the only thing likely to end it is an actual worldwide apocalypse where the dead rise up and turn humanity into a grungy skeleton of what it once was. But, instead of having the "Which one of your friend group would be Rick?" conversation, we're going to look into our barb wire-wrapped crystal ball to look as far as we can into the future, focusing specifically on Season 7 of The Walking Dead, which nabbed its renewal when Season 6 was just three episodes deep. Here's everything we know about that upcoming season.

For the past four years, The Walking Dead has kicked its seasons off on the second Sunday in October, just in time for AMC's Halloween-themed marathons. At Comic-Con in San Diego this summer, it was announced that The Walking Dead Season 7 would debut October 23, 2016. Get those costumes ready, kiddos, because Halloween Monday is going to be full of chatter about whatever happened on the show.

With the impending premiere still a ways off, AMC has yet to deliver anything that shows us footage of any of the characters whose futures are on the line, thanks to Negan and his bat Lucille. But, thankfully, the network unleashed the first full Season 7 trailer at Comic-Con, giving viewers a good idea of what to expect from all of the new aspects of the show we'll be getting to see, such as the Kingdom and its leader Ezekiel. My favorite moment is when everyone takes a knee as Negan walks past, indicating just how strong of a hold he has over his Saviors. Chilling shit.

Other than that, though, there has just been a full shot of King Ezekiel, as played by Khary Payton. But we expect there will be much more to come as far as footage goes in the weeks leading up to the premiere, even if a lot of it just reuses dark and blurry footage from Negan's big scene.

When Season 7 is unleashed upon viewers, there are definitely going to be new survivors coming into contact with Rick and the rest, with some sharing virtuous ideals and others...not so much. First up, we know we're getting a lot more out of Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan, so that counts. Some characters' live-action existences have been revealed, while others hinted at by casting calls remain a mystery. Let's go through some of them.

Aside from the foul-mouthed tyrant Negan, arguably the most important character we'll likely meet is "King" Ezekiel, as seen above looking oh so sharp on his throne. Rumor has it Episode 3 is when viewers will first get to see his home zone, dubbed The Kingdom, which was seen in small chunks during the trailer. That's also where those armor-laden guys that Morgan met in Season 6 come from. Without getting too deep into where Ezekiel's story goes, we can just say he's another man-in-charge, and a very likable one at that.

A recent casting notice shared that a new character named "Jennie" would be introduced in Episode 6, and that she would be a perky teenager who has remained optimistic, despite all of the awfulness surrounding her, but she isn't as naive as that description might imply. Also during Episode 6, we'll get to meet another older survivor by the name of "Naomi" that has watched just about everyone she knew and loved die, which gives her an unexpected edge and grip on survival. There's someone named "Rodgers" coming, too, and he'll be a horseback-riding hardass who is determined to keep everyone he knows safe; this is most likely The Kingdom's Richard from the comics.

It's unclear if any of the others will correspond to comic characters, but speaking of, there are a couple of Hilltop Colony residents that viewers will hopefully get the privilege to meet soon. One is the local blacksmith -- yes, a blacksmith -- named Earl, who's a genial guy that makes weapons and could possibly play a role in Carl's future. Karen Ceesay's Bertie, who has already made an appearance, is probably a stand-in for the comic character Brianna, who becomes one of Maggie's closer friends; but if she isn't, then expect that character to pop up. The Saviors also bring out some more noteworthy characters as time goes by, such as Mark, who suffers a facial fate similar to Dwight, and Amber, the girl on the other side of that awfulness. There's Carson, another higher-up in the villainous group who has a pretty important function at some point in the future. And there's another memorable scene in the comics that involves a douche named David, so he might show up.

The trailer shows us some of these new faces, especially through the Kingdom residents and Negan's Saviors. But it's unclear if any of these will remain notable or if they're largely just background actors.

And in Season 7? From Rick, we can definitely expect a lot of drama with Negan, and not always of the "guys standing around having conversations about their feelings" kind of drama. Though that does indeed happen, since Negan likes to talk a lot. Rick will likely find more allies for his cause outside of what he's used to, and though things might not always go his way, sometimes that can have its advantages. Expect him to kick things off as a pretty broken individual, though, as he'll have just lost one of his closest compatriots.

Carl will continue on a path to being a more interesting character, now that he's been changed by his injury. We can expect him to mesh with Negan in a completely different way from other characters, although their comic relationship will take some detours, as other characters may get parts of that storyline.

The Flash Season 3 Joey King Teases us Magenta

Their are so many faces that are coming in the upcoming The Flash Season 3 both heroes and villains alike. After the Flashpoint story arc comes to an end this season, there will be plenty of episodes left for Barry Allen to face off against his Rogues. The show has generally introduced at least one new villain or dangerous metahuman for each episode. This season, the two big bads have already been revealed as Dr. Alchemy and Savitar, but Central City will be seeing more threats including, a new female version of Top, Mirror Master, Black Flash, Gorilla Grodd, and Magenta.

In the comics, Magenta is a member of the classic Rogues, but also plays the role of Wally West/Kid Flash’s love interest. Details on her live-action debut have yet to be known, but it’s possible that she may have a recurring role as Wally’s girlfriend as opposed to being a Flash villain. Joey King is playing the role and has now taken to Twitter to share a first look at her purplelicious character.

Based on the photo, Joey King certainly pulls off Magenta’s younger look very well. Frances Kane (Magenta) met Wally West when he was just seven years old and they grew up together as friends. When she reached adulthood, she started to exhibit strange magnetic powers. Wally did his best to teach her how to use her superpowers properly. After Wally West took on the mantle of The Flash, the two were a power couple for quite a while – until she left him.

After their break-up in the world of DC Comics, Magenta returned to Central City with a vengeance, stronger powers, and an evil personality with the sole purpose of getting Wally’s attention. The good memories she had with Wally were twisted, creating quite a battle at a local baseball game. One again, she left for a while only to return nastier than ever.

It’s going to be interesting to see if Magenta plays a hero, a villain or maybe both on The Flash TV show since, as mentioned, she switches back and forth between those extremes in the comics. Although Wally West will be a bit younger than usual in The Flash season 3, Joey King is quite young too. So, it’s possible we may yet see the nice girlfriend version of Magenta instead of the magnetized supervillain. Either way, King is a welcomed addition to the ever-growing cast of The Flash.

Brace yourselves, dolls, because it just so happens that one of our favorite characters is going rogue in Pretty Little Liars Season 7 Episode 9. When her usual sleuthing methods no longer produce legitimate clues about A.D.’s identity, Hanna Marin decides to take matters into her own hands in order to solve this mystery once and for all. Will her vigilante investigative tactics prove to be badass and daring? For sure! However, as much as we appreciate a strong, independent woman who shows initiative and isn’t afraid to take risks, we also don’t like to see our beloved Rosewood residents in grave peril and when you mess with Uber A, that’s exactly what happens.
