Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 15 Recap

Pretty Little Liars season 5 episode 15 starts Ali’s in jail and surprise, surprise doesn’t like it. She wants the Liars in there with her. Jason is ignoring his sister’s call. He thinks Ali had something do with their mother’s death. Meanwhile Caleb reveals to Spencer that He can’t get “hauled away on suspicion of murder again.” What? “Again”?

And Toby and Spencer as well as Emily and Paige are having relationship troubles. Unexpectedly Ashley and Jason are a new item! And it looks like “A” will be putting Hanna, Spence, Emily and Aria in jail with Ali some time soon. With or without “A” in the picture, the “Pretty Little Liars” Fresh Meat episode reveals that the residents of Rosewood will always be enmeshed in drama.

Toby finds his family’s knife buried under leaves in Mona’s backyard during a Rosewood Police investigation of the property. While he feels that “A has planted it” Toby is concerned that it could in fact be the murder weapon so he leaves it as is. But Spence and Caleb are not convinced. They believe “A” planted it. So behind Toby’s back, Spence and Caleb miraculously uncover the knife in the dead of night and place it in a school kiln to disintegrate. But before that knife can disappear, Caleb gets trapped in the kiln and almost disappears himself. By taking matters into her own hands with the vital piece of information, Spence officially puts her relationship with Toby on the line.

Holbrook and Hanna kissed. What? According to Hanna she did it for saving Ashley. In addition to kissing detectives, Hanna reveals that she has been accepted to a ton of colleges. While visiting one such college, Hanna finds out about the mysterious knife in Mona’s backyard. Hanna goes looking for Holbrook in a well-lit trailer park, but only finds his emaciated father and a scary Teddy Bear stuffed with organs. Then she goes to visit Ali, who reveals that during those hours over Thanksgiving when she was missing she was actually just waiting for Cyrus to call. Hanna doesn’t buy it.

Emily wants to see Paige, who now resides in California. She needs to raise money to get an airplane ticket so she tries to start catering for Ezra’s newly renovated The Brew, which turns into a disaster.

Poor Aria. Looks like “A” doesn’t want her going to college. She’s been rejected from “every single college” she applied to. But is it due to “A”? She finally tells Ez that she didn’t get into any colleges – not even her safety school Tallmadge. Turns out Jackie as in Ez’s ex works there. So, after taking Em’s advice, Aria writes a letter to the college about what a mistake it was to date her high school English teacher. After showing the contents to Em, she wants to take it back but it’s too late. Jackie has already seen it, but surprise, surprise the ex likes it and apparently so does “A”!

Pretty Little Liars season 5 episode 11 recap Melissa comes clean

On last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Caleb finally talked about his time in Ravenswood and Melissa spilled her secret to Spencer. With only one more episode left until the hiatus, Pretty Little Liars has stepped up their reveal game.

Last night’s episode began with the girls attempting to reveal the whole truth about Ali and New York to the police. They didn’t get very far, however, due to the fact that “A” sent them a warning in the form of footage of Ali visiting Hanna in the hospital. Hanna thinks that the message is actually from Ali and not “A” in an attempt to stop the girls. Afterward, Emily interestingly goes to see Ezra in hopes that he may have some information on Cyrus. He doesn’t know anything but this was a big moment for Ezra because he finally felt like the girls were beginning to trust him again. It’s also already a strong episode for Emily who takes a stand against Alison by ignoring her calls. Hanna heads to Caleb’s house only to find him passed out next to an almost empty liquor bottle. She’s about done with his behavior and the next day she enlists Spencer and Toby to help him out of his dark hole. At the Hastings house Spencer finds a note from Melissa in her bedroom. The note says that their dad is making her leave town but she will tell Spencer the truth soon. Doubt it.

All the girls, minus Spencer, are discussing Melissa’s note when Detective Tanner interrupts them in order to warn them about Cyrus still being loose. She also takes the opportunity to grill them a bit about Bethany Young’s death but it pretty much leads nowhere, making this an extremely pointless scene.

Spencer receives a package in the mail from Melissa that includes a video of her finally explaining the truth. The night that Bethany Young was killed Melissa saw Spencer and her fighting, and then saw the body lying on the ground next to Spencer holding a shovel. Melissa did what all good sisters do and literally buried the evidence in the ground. Melissa also knows that Bethany was never dead and she ended up burying her alive. So maybe Melissa isn’t the worst sister in the world after all.

It’s now time for Caleb’s intervention with Spencer and Toby in tow. They decide the best possible place to do this is in a public setting. Nice move, Hanna. It goes over just as you would expect it to and Caleb freaks out. Toby tries to have a private moment with him but Caleb eventually gets up and leaves.

Its movie night for Aria’s family, but when Ella flakes out Mona shows up in her place. Aria is not too happy about Mike and Mona’s reunion, so during the movie Aria whispers something in Mona’s ear which prompts her to get up to go cry in the bathroom. Aria eventually finds her and Mona reveals that she knows she doesn’t deserve Mike. She also tells Aria that she is just looking out for herself and protecting herself from Ali.

Ezra pulls through for Emily and finds photos of Alison and Cyrus together looking relatively chummy. Emily now knows that Ali lied about being scared of him and also found out that Cyrus goes by many different aliases and has been arrested a handful of times. That’s a great guy Ali has there.

Back at Aria’s house, Det. Tanner shows up to talk to Byron, which Aria naturally listens in on. Tanner reveals that she has a meeting with one of the girls the next day. She expects this girl to tell her the whole truth and someone will finally be arrested.

Caleb and Hanna are back at the cabin when Caleb finally breaks down and talks about his time in Ravenswood. He tells Hanna that he saw Miranda after she died and that he drinks to get to sleep because Miranda haunts his dreams. It’s a sad and vulnerable moment for Caleb and it’s nice to see some weight lifted off of his shoulders. So does this mean we get the old Caleb back now?

While that is going down Aria, Spencer and Emily gather together to figure out who the girl is that Tanner is meeting with. They all decide that it must be Ali and Emily plans on showing Ali the pictures she has in an attempt to stop her from talking. With this Spencer decides to show the girls the video from Melissa. Spencer also tells them that Bethany was wearing Ali’s shirt so Ali must have been trying to switch places with her all along. In the final scene we see someone looking inside Caleb’s house through a window and watching him sleep.

Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 8 Sum Up

Aria is apparently channeling all her guilt about Shana and directing it at Hanna on this episode of Pretty Little Liars. It was only a matter of time before she found something to focus on besides her own grief, and Hanna’s current penchant for alcohol makes her an easy target. What it also does, is make it that much easier for A to get what she wants.

Emily and Spencer nearly came face-to-hoof with one such beast during a fact-finding mission to Bethany’s stable, though Spencer’s injured eye will likely heal faster than Aria and Hanna’s fractured friendship.

Ella has terrible taste in men. During a drunken sandwich run to the Brew, Hanna got all kinds of felt up by her fiancé Zack, but because she’d downed half a bottle of whiskey at the time, her friends assumed she “misinterpreted” the situation. She returned to the Brew the next night to validate her suspicions, at which point Zack felt her up again and gave her his number. But the worst part was Aria’s reaction; she basically called Hanna a slut and blamed her for everything bad going on in their lives.

Meanwhile, Aria spent some time with her new bestie “Big Rhonda,” who revealed that Mrs. DiLaurentis signed Bethany out of Radley several times, and even bought her expensive presents — including a pony. (Sounds like the kind of gift a mother might give to her daughter. There’s no way the twin theory is off the table.) A trip to the stable revealed a few more clues, including a riding helmet with Melissa’s initials, but a thunderstorm threw a wrench in the girls’ investigation. Seriously, remind me never to go within 20 feet of a horse ever again.

With her dad out of town, Alison crashed at Chez Marin, where she filled the Hanna-shaped hole in Ashley’s life. They even planned a faux-mother/daughter dinner, but an unexpected visit from a knife-wielding stranger put a bit of a damper on their evening. Only it wasn’t unexpected, and it wasn’t a stranger; it was Noel Kahn, and Alison orchestrated the entire break-in herself. She apparently wanted “someone like Hanna’s mom” to stop doubting that a killer is after her, but methinks that little stunt will only serve to push her friends further away.

Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 8 Spoiler

Hanna is slipping into a drinking problem, Alison losing her control over the Liars, and "A" is back to causing all sorts of problems on Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 8 Scream For Me should be an exciting episode, and the sneak peeks promise a lot of interesting developments.

What exactly do the sneak peeks tell us? We've taken a close look at what they reveal.

The Liars confront Hanna. Em and Spencer quickly switch their topic of conversation when they run into Hanna dropping a beer can out of her bag. Clearly, they aren't impressed with her latest life choices, and the fact that it was apparently Caleb's beer instead doesn't improve their opinion.

Time for an apology? Em and Spencer go on to tell Hanna that she needs to give Aria (Lucy Hale) a proper apology. They don't say what for, but we assume this is about Han accidentally revealing that they were in New York — a mistake that's sure to freak Aria and her never-ending Shana-guilt out.

Apology times two. The Liars add that Hanna also needs to apologize to Ali. Um, why is Hanna the only one they seem to think should be saying "I'm sorry" in that situation? 5. The apology happens. In this clip, Hanna does apologize to Ali, though she denies that there was anything deeper than general stress involved, which is clearly not true. Baby steps.

Ali staying with the Marins? From baby steps to jumping in the deep end! After "making amends," Ali explains that her dad needs to go out of town for a few days and wants Ali to come with, but since she's afraid "A" will cause problems if she tries to leave Rosewood, she wants to stay with Hanna, instead. Han is clearly hesitant, but based on the official synopsis, we know Ali gets her way. Surprise, surprise. Em tries to work her magic on Sydney. Here, Emily tries to figure out exactly what Sydney knows, but Syd is playing dumb, denying Hanna said anything about New York. Suspicious, much?

Aria gets into a sticky situation. Here, Aria is back in Radley, trying to slip the sketchbook back under Rhonda's bed. Problem: Rhonda catches her in the act.

What favor does Rhonda want? Rhonda says she willing to keep her mouth shut about Aria's sketchy actions — but she wants something in return. We wonder what the exchange will be, and if this situation will end up revealing deeper secrets.

Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 6 Sum Up

This week the Alison considered leaving Rosewood again, but for good this time but somethings just happen that wrap it up for pretty little liars season 5 episode 6, A had other plans. After the terrifying situation in Toby's house the gang is on the street looking at the aftermath of the explosion at Toby’s house, when they receive a text from A. They are shocked as they know Shawna’s dead, so who could be texting them? Toby runs off, and the house explodes more. Thankfully, no one is killed. The girls believe that A never really went away, and that whoever it is knows that Aria killed Shawna.
Hanna runs into Caleb at the coffee shop. He tells her that there has to be a reason that A targeted Toby’s house for a reason and that the cops believe a gas leak was to blame for the explosion. Caleb also reveals that he doesn’t plan to stay in Rosewood long.
Aria worries that A will expose her to the police for killing Shawna as Ezra looks for a connection between Mrs. D. and the girl in Ali’s grave, Bethany Young, who was a patient at Radley. Spencer heads home to pick up a book and runs into her father, who’s angry about his wife leaving him, and Spencer going with her. Mr. Hastings admits he lied about he and Melissa’s whereabouts, but insists he never killed anyone.
At lunch Ali gets a video of her mother being buried alive. “I buried your mom the same way I watched her burry you,” A texts her. The girl try to figure out who A is, who is the same person who killed Mrs. D. Spencer defends that her dad didn’t do it, but Melissa is still a suspect. Ali wants to leave Rosewood for good this time, and the girls try to talk her out of it, telling her she still won’t be safe. Spencer visits Radley, and her old friend Eddie. She asks him about Bethany, but he refuses to tell her anything. Travis comes to Hanna’s house after she forgets about their date. She apologizes for her actions and he seems upset. Ali makes plans to leave Rosewood, and Hanna says that she’ll help her try and escape A’s wrath.
Aria tells Ezra that they can’t go back to the way things were because of all his past lies. There’s a knock at the door and it’s the police officer heading the investigation. Aria hides. The police officer tells Ezra that Shawna was found dead at a theater that his family owned, and that when Shawna was dead there was gun residue found on her sweatshirt, the same shirt she was wearing the night before when she shot Ezra in New York. Emily asks Paige to give her the names of the people who are conspiring against Ali with Mona. Paige refuses to tell, and Paige tells her that Ali’s life is in danger. Spencer arranges for her mom and dad to meet, and Mrs. Hastings isn’t happy about it. Ali makes her escape plans, and Hanna helps her pack, and offers to drive her to the train station. Ezra receives a drawing at his front door. The drawing is of Mrs. D. and is signed Bethany. Camera footage reveals Eddie from Radley left the photo at his door.
Emily gets upset when she finds out that Ali was planning to leave. Ali heads home to see her father, but he’s not there. She talks to him on the phone, and then plans to leave.
However, Ali isn’t alone in her house. She heads to her room to get a few things, including money, and fake I.D.’s and returns downstairs to a dark house. A is standing behind her and hits her hard. Ali and A struggle as Alison is being choked to death. Emily comes in and fights off A, who escapes. Emily tells Ali that she can’t leave after the attack. Hanna visits Caleb and tells him that she wants Ali gone, as she never liked who she was when she was around her.
Ali gets a text from A telling her that if she leaves Rosewood she’ll be killed. She stays at Emily’s house because she’s scared. Emily stays up all night to make sure she’s safe. Spencer finds out that she and her mom are moving back home, and that Mr. Hastings is moving out. Spencer asks her mom to give her dad another chance, but she says she’s already given her too many chances after years of lies. Travis isn’t happy about Hanna’s lack of attention, and wonders if Caleb is to blame. Travis walks away from Hanna. Aria goes to Radley in hopes of being a volunteer and getting information.
Emily and Ali stop by Alison’s house to get a few things when the police officer comes to ask her some questions about Shawna, and wants her and her dad to come to the police station. Just then Ali gets a text from A saying “Time for the caged bird to sing.” The episode ended with A seemingly dressed like the Black Widow arranging flowers and a sympathy note for Bethany’s parents. A little bit confusing and scary.

Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 5 Miss Me × 100

As much as Pretty Little Liars has dropped the ball on some pretty essential things over the years, every so often it does something brilliant, making us forget the shit-storm that led to the moment of clarity and the inevitable mess that will follow right after. This episode, Thrown From The Ride, showed off everything this new Pretty Little Liars can be, with or without the return of A, and leads us into the 100th episode with more hope for the future than has been possible for years.

Now I’m aware that there’ll be people who disagree with me, and have found these villain-free, largely action-free four hours boring and uneventful. For me though, a frustrated fan who has long grown tired of the repetitive A problem and the writers’ seeming inability to mask their make-it-up-as-we-go-along method, this is what I’ve been waiting for, and softens the blow of another three seasons considerably. I’m also aware that it’ll all go wrong in a few weeks time, maybe even next week, but I’ve learnt to appreciate what I can get.

Starting with the biggest part of this upswing, Alison’s arc has managed to be more compelling, upsetting and intriguing than we could have hoped. The scenes between her and her father are the show’s secret weapons right now and have an honesty to them that is mostly missing from a lot of the show’s established relationships. It was also nice to see that the writers remember that sexual assault is a serious issue, and one that needs to be directly addressed every so often.

When Alison’s with the girls or facing off with old enemies, we see glimpses of the old, vindictive Ali, but not when she’s at home – she’s been broken by A more than any of her friends. Spencer may be flailing without a villain to fight against, Aria might have a lot of guilt over Shana’s death, Emily’s feelings for Alison are as confused as ever and Hannah is having an identity crisis, but their complete avoidance and near-resentment of their leader’s return speaks volumes about what they feel she brings with her.

And most of her experience is smartly left up to our imagination, with the kidnapping lie only adding to the mystery. We’re as clueless as the girls all over again, but this time in a way that’s not completely maddening, and we can only imagine what horrors Mona’s minions have in store for their old tormentor in the coming weeks. What they don’t realise, and what Paige recognizes, is that Alison isn’t the enemy anymore – Mona and the rest of the hoodies are the villains of the story now, and what they’re doing isn’t self-defence, but war. The most exciting thing about season five is the absence of any smoke and mirrors – the episodes no longer have the ubiquitous A tags and Rosewood’s many threats are out in the open. We might find out that Shana was yet another red herring and A is just laying in wait, but it’s equally possible that Spencer’s monsters are indeed as real as ever, just no longer hiding under their beds. Mona is openly taunting the Liars, Ezra is on his way to being forgiven and Lucas and Paige are being sucked back into the game.

There are no more masks, red coats or hoodies to hide behind – the bad guys no longer need them. It’s not so much a departure from what the show has been for four years, but more of an evolution. Even if we’re still dealing with the same suspects and getting our heads around the same ludicrous shenanigans, having it be so brazen is the shot in the arm the show desperately needed. It’s fun to watching Mona cackling and Ezra being manipulative again, and the girls aren’t even fighting back anymore.

The show has always been about obsession, but now we’re seeing that obsession being driven by guilt as much as it has been by vengeance. Aria has become obsessed with footage from Shana’s funeral, Emily admits doing something similar after the Nate incident, Ezra explains how he has come to terms with his own guilt over lying to Aria and, right at the end of the episode, we see Alison fixated on the wall of hate people have left in remembrance. This feels like a Pretty Little Liars with a conscience, with shades of grey and consequences to the things these characters have done and, despite those niggling problems, it’s a much better show for it.

In the next episode of Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 5 entitled Miss Me × 100, The day has finally arrived – Alison’s first day back at Rosewood High, and neither the PLLs nor Alison are really ready for it. Determined to put on a brave face, Alison returns to also help heal the damage she did years ago. But are apologies enough for those who Alison has hurt in the past? Not if Mona and her army have anything to say about it. Meanwhile, Caleb and an old foe return to Rosewood.

Here is promo of the upcoming episode:

Pretty Little Liars Season 5 Episode 4 Thrown From The Ride

The thrill is on in the liars as the mysterious things are happening in the Rosewood. Ali lying in bed for days while he friends visit and try to get to eat or drink to no avail. She remains this way up until the day of Jessica’s funeral. Ali’s return to Rosewood has not been easy on her in the slightest and while it’s tragic, it’s a bit nice to see these different and more complex sides to Ali’s personality.

While waiting for Ali to get dressed, the girls begin a round of “Whodunit?” when discussing Jessica’s murder. Emily thinks it was Jason, Aria blames it on the deceased “A,” and we just sort of don’t really care who did it. We’d rather the writers solve the rest of the mysteries first before focusing on something new.

The episode skips right over the funeral, which we are grateful for. We think we’ve seen the girls enough times at that church. The girls are back at school and it doesn’t take long before Mona pounces on them with a “Get Well” card for Mr. Fitz and a side of blackmail to go along with it.

It appears that Emily has a new Swimfan in her life. Sydney just started at Rosewood and wants Emily to watch her while she swims. Not in a creepy way, more in an “I need help with my form” way. For now, at least. After school Ali and Hannah head to the funeral home to pick up the guest book when Hannah is mistaken for Ali by the funeral director. This brings Hannah’s insecurities to the surface as she remembers her days as “Hefty Hannah.” It’s been clear for over a season now that Hannah has been struggling with Ali being alive. We have a feeling we’re about to see a huge identity crisis go down with Hannah.

Aria has decided to head over to Ezra’s apartment when she thinks he is still in New York. She keeps insisting they are no longer together and if that’s the case then it’s pretty weird that she would go to his apartment. Before she has a chance to break in, though, Ezra emerges from his apartment. Apparently he has no clue that Shana is dead and warns Aria about how dangerous she is. Right now would have been the opportune moment to speak up, Aria. Thankfully she returns later on to tell him the truth. That’s a secret we really had no desire to see dragged out.

That night Hannah and Emily head to Philadelphia to investigate the place they followed Jason to in last week’s episode. All they find is that same crazy old man who confirms that Jason used it as a safe house to get sober in. At the Hastings household, Spencer is adamant on protecting Jason when Peter and Melissa do not trust him or the rest of the family. Spencer wants to know who Jessica was trying to help out but Melissa just tears up the email that Spencer had printed out.

The episode ends with Hannah heading straight to the hair salon for a new ‘do. We guess all those Mona flashbacks really went to her head. We always love a good makeover, though. Is it weird we’re mostly excited for next week so we can see the new Hannah?

In the next episode of Pretty Little Liars season 5 episode 4 Thrown From The Ride, With Ali now back in Rosewood, she attempts to regain the role of leader of the group, but she finds her four friends are not as willing to blindly follow her every whim as they once were. Besides feeling the pressure from Alison, Aria, Emily, Hanna, and Spencer are also feeling under the microscope at school with the high school focusing their attention on the Liars. While most kids are morbidly curious about what happened to Ali, some are more focused on planning for Ali's return to school. Meanwhile, Aria's depression continues to spiral, and she looks for comfort from an unlikely source.
